I genuinely had no idea that I was in Vaduz, my bus had stopped and I thought we were stopping briefly until the driver informed me that this was the last stop and yes it is the main street of Vaduz. Essentially, Vaduz comprises of two main roads underneath Vaduz Castle itself. The Castle stands behind its ornate and magnificent gate – locked away from the public. The general feel of Lichtenstein was very similar to Switzerland. This seems perfectly plausible as they share the same currency and often take the same stance on foreign affairs. However Lichtenstein is a country that is keen to differentiate itself with its quaint small country character. It is very successful.
