Berlin
In places Berlin seems strikingly modern. I had some vague expectations of a grey city full of orderly stone structures and concrete. Even though Berlin was completely flattened during the Second World War, the buildings have been reconstructed giving a passionate sense of ingenuity and ambition. This city was split in two for almost 40 years, are still bears the wounds of its past. The east side is noticeably less wealthy than the west but by no means could it be considered impoverished. Berlin is famed worldwide for its nightlife and bar scene. At night revelers flock to these in there thousands to see super-star Dj's and famous bands. Radically diverse, Berlin now hosts a fantastic mixture of cultures and these are expressed evidently, all over the city.
