Sarajevo
When walking though Sarajevo, the pain and anguish of preceding years is obvious. To use old cliché’s, parts of the city are ‘war torn’ and ‘decrepit’ but these stand side by side with buildings housing families washing lines being strung from ruined brick walls. This is a city moving forward but slowly. People I spoke to seemed optimistic for the future whilst still mourning for the past.
