Minsk
There’s a lot of concrete in Minsk – and this seems to be its biggest claim to fame. Lots and lots of concrete. Another ex-soviet ‘transition’ economy, Belarus seems to find westernization a little harder than most. Though, with its wide roads, vast park and unadorned structures, Belarus is equipped with people who are perfectly friendly and seem keen to move forward, but Minsk itself seems to be stuck in a communist time-warp.
